An Available Man

Wolitzer's got a great voice and is a truly talented writer. Edward, the novel's protagonist is just a darling of a man and anyone with even a modicum of imagination will be able to picture him.

This was terrific as it paralleled the situation my friend and I are in now. Quite amusing to show it to him.

Reading this book was like looking at a painting that had been done by a paint by numbers technique. If one imagined what scenes would be in the book before one started they were all there - a brief trip to a grieving spouses group, meetings with his children who encourage him too start dating, a few dates, a failed relationship, and then - for no particular reason - a pairing off.
