Stone Field

So I bought this book from Book Outlet. It was the cover that first intrigued me, and when I read the synopsis, I was further intrigued.

Catrina, called Cat by those closest to her, is a girl ahead of her time. By turns willful, stubborn, and independent, she seizes life by the throat and tries to live it to its fullest extent.

Stone Field reeled me in with its pitch: a retelling of Wuthering Heights set in the Civil War. The best and most redeeming quality of this book is the historical component, but sadly the romance and the main character tarnished the entire reading experience for me.
